AURORA

Aurora was born in Italy but then moved to the UK as a teenager to become a professional singer despite having little musical experience. Aurora grew up with her mother and father, who both enjoyed artistic expression, her father was a full time photographer who regularly took Aurora on his travels around Europe, this lead to her fascination of different cultures and languages. Aurora is fluent in English,Italian, Spanish, German and Latin. Her mother had a passion for creative arts and was in independent films in Italy.
"Every time I thought I was being rejected from something good, I was actually being redirected to somewhere better"
Having being rejected from numerous auditions, Aurora chose to study Law and Politics at Liverpool University, alongside this she did regular gigs at "The Cavern Club" and other local bars. After one year at university, she chose to drop out of university and moved to Camden in London where she lived with her friend in a studio apartment on the canal.
In Camden she became friends with other quirky people, who had similar views and passion as well as fashion sense. She then fell in love with her boyfriend Sebastian who worked at a underground studios as a producer and helped Aurora with her career. She would spend hours and nights working on new music, some of which she will never release.
Her heartbreak happened in 2009 and lead to her first album 'Still Breathing' which was written about her ex boyfriend and challenging relationships she had. This album explored her attributes of creativity as she wrote songs about personal problems. Her burst to fame came from this album after performing her debut single "Change" performed in the Roundhouse in Camden.
"Music is my escapism, it takes me out of the scary reality we are living in"
An unmistakable optimism shines through her new album 'Awareness' as she explores the current political situations around the globe as well as her personal experiences. Her passion for politics and making a change was her biggest inspiration for her latest album.
"Italian indie-pop princess, Aurora, releases a album synthesised to perfection".
